Chubb European Group
The well known and respected Chubb Insurance European Group requested the installation of a Pergotex retractable awning to be installed on the roof of their offices, in order to function as an entertainment and relaxation space for the their guests and staff. Based on the 7th floor terrace of their office, located close to The Tower of London, this area was to be turned into a hospitality area.
Key factors to consider were the need for high wind resistance, with the need for a sturdy structure, whilst still offering a large retractable fabric roof for the sunnier and calmer days.
The Weinor Pergotex is a perfect solution of medium sized applications where all year round weather protection can be provided from the very sturdy vinyl fabric roof, yet still be retracted if needed. We installed a Weinor Pergotex system with a 9m width and a 6.5m projection to give this cover. The system is fully remote control and electric operated for complete ease of use.
Rainwater is directed down to the front and to an integral rain gutter system in the front profile, to be taken away down the drainage in the supporting legs to avoid splashes and ensure maximum rain protection.
At the push of a remote control button, the entire roof can be retracted. Optional sliding glass doors and vertical blinds can be added to this system to totally enclose the area if required, however in this case we didn't believe this option was necessary.
We also believe this is an attractive addition to the City of London skyline and helps the already fantastic looking terrace truly stand out.
