Wind Protection and Privacy Screening

When creating an outdoor covered space for customers or staff alike to use most of the year round then careful consideration should be given to at least minimal protection from one or all of the open sides on the structure chosen. It is only really possible to give maximum protection on the open side of a structure of the structure itself is capable of the extra weight and wind loading.

Samson offer many different solutions to closing off an opening whether it be in a glass, aluminium or fabric product.

Vertical Blinds

The fabric blinds are one of the best solutions for wind and privacy but can also have a vision panel built in if required for light and vision whilst still performing as a block to wind and rain.

We offer many different high quality and made to measure fabric blinds all designed for use externally and often specifically designed to be an option in various outdoor structures we offer.

Many blinds will only be gravity driven and lower down under the weight of the leading edge profile but we also offer a whole range of belt driven and tensioned systems where he fabric on the blind is pulled out under tension using a belt system in the side channels and the fabric is also zipped into the side channels for tension across the fabric. This offers the very best tension for wind and rain protection alike.

All our vertical blinds are electrically operated as standard for ease of use, control and safety.

Simple and reliable built in remote controls offer the possibility to operate, adjust as necessary and also be controlled from different devices and include for wind speed safety systems.

All the blinds are made to measure with over 300 different fabric colours and patterns as well as specialist fabrics for commercial use.

Horizontal Fabric Blinds

The horizontal blinds we offer are a tensioned fabric system which is pulled out manually from an aluminium cassette fixed vertically to any suitable solid structure.

The fabric is under tension and generally you can achieve width of up to 4m and heights up to around 2.5m with the option to also have the fabric built with a slope in the top to work better with an awning or lean to system.

Again, we offer these blinds / side screen as made to measure for the perfect fit as standard. Over 60 different cassette colours and over 300 fabrics to choose from. Manual only operation.

Sliding Fabric Doors

Sliding fabric screens for privacy and weather protection on the side of many different systems. The Markilux Format has been designed for use with the very popular Markilux Markant system offering control of air flow and protection from the element and is available in many different colours to suit.

Up to 2.5m in height this system is perfect for a high quality option for closing off any open area. Manually operation with ease from the stainless steel runner rails on the floor.

Maximum width is around 6m with 5 individual sections.

Aluminium Walling

We can offer fixed solid double skinned aluminium walling for closing off a side permanently with a powdercoat finish and solid feel. Alternatively we can offer partial louvred slats on a similar aluminium walling to provide adjustable air movement and privacy as required.

Sliding Glass Doors

Maximum light and vision from a frameless glass panel system offering a very wide range of sizes.

Each frameless glass panel glides on an aluminium bottom track to enable partial or full opening, with the glass panels stacked behind each other at one end. Locking is possible with various handle sets and locking methods and optional discreet brush seals are available for use either as a winter set up or for use on the prevailing wind side to reduce draughts between the glass panels.

The glass elements can be integrated not only as additions for terrace roofs, but also in many other areas. The versatile and customisable elements can be used for balcony glazing, as additions to any type of fixed or retractable terrace roof, to design fascinating entry ways and high-quality wind and privacy screens, even in challenging installation situa­tions. The glass elements are not module elements but are planned and designed individually for every application. They are made of aluminium and glass and are assembled with top-quality workmanship. This makes the durable glass elements weather resistant and very easy to care for.

The glass can be combined with optional aluminium double skinned panels which are generally used at lower level, and these can help create more insulation and privacy where required. We can also offer a traditional hinged door within one of these aluminium panels if it suits the application better.

The all-glass sliding elements can be used both as glass door fronts and as glass window fronts. The floor tracks for the door elements can be recessed into the floor to provide barrier-free access.

High-quality ball bearings in the sliding elements mean they move with an extremely light touch while ensuring lasting functionality. The glass sliding elements can run on the 2 or 5-railed tracks either in­dividually or in pairs, which makes lengths of up to 10 metres possible. The frameless door elements can be pushed aside using a refined mechanism to reveal fantastic views.

Rising Glass Barriers

Controlling your environment at the push of a button with a commercial rising glass barrier system. Any outdoor area will be made far more comfortable and usable more of the year round with a system capable of offering protection from wind and rain whilst maintaining the highest levels of vision and light.

Control and adjust the amount of air flow with the rising glass section, these systems provide protection from wind and rain all year round. They are also easy to control with manual or electric operation models.

These systems all come in made to measure sizes and can be joined together for wider applications with limitless widths. They are usually split into two or three horizontal sections depending on requirements and secured to the ground using plates.

There are many options for the aluminium framework colours and finishes, and the 2 part sections can be glazed in a mixture of either solid fabric, various glass types or acrylic sections.
