Conran Shop London - Awnings
Samson Awnings installed four of the Markilux 1700 designer awnings at the Conran Shop in London to provide sun shade and shelter for the outside display and seating area accessed by a wall of sliding glass doors.
With any large glass sliding door systems or bi folding doors, they offer great accessibility and vision, but the downside can be excessive heat during the warmer, sunny days. A retractable fabric awning is the perfect solution to control the intense sunlight and heat, extending the awning to project shade onto the window, thereby cooling the entire room inside.
As you can see from the photos, the emphasis was very much on the design, a sensitivity to the matching of colour schemes, and enhancing the very attractive display of plants and outdoor products sold on the outside terrace area. The overall appearance of the terrace has definitely been enhanced, as well as creating a more practical area that has better all round use, a piece of quiet serenity in the center of London.
Due to the installation being on the top floor terrace, wind sensors were advised in order to prevent over exposure to higher winds and prevent any potential damage. The Markilux 1700 is a great designer awning with super strong folding arms and made to measure as standard with manual or electric operation and available in several stabndard colours and over 250 fabric choices for the cover.
