Hotel de la Ville - Italy
This recent installation at a high class Italian hotel demonstrates the benefits of the brand new Gibus Med Zenit and Azimut systems.
This installation is based in Avellino, a town to the east of the historical culturally rich city of Naples, in Central Southern Italy. Three retractable fabric roof systems were required to be installed at The Hotel de la Ville, a higher class hotel popular amongst businesses, particularly for holding conferences. For this reason they needed a way to acommodate people outside at all times of the year, able to shade people from the burning sunshine during the peak of a mediterranean Summer and also able to shelter people from rain during Winter, yet able to open up.
For this reason, the Med Zenit was the ideal system to use. Brand new from Gibus for the Summer 2018 season, the Med Zenit consists of an aluminium frame powder coated in a range of fantastic and modern looking colours, with a motorised PVC roof. The roof itself is a big change for Gibus systems, moving from a sloped roof to a subtle yet effective curve that guides the rain down into the Anti-Splash guttering, and through the legs to the ground. This is important for stopping any potential splashing or dripping and keeping their guests dry.
The system was also fitted with LED strip lighting built-in around the frame, with any RGB colour able to be illuminated. In the photos below, the warm purple lighting creates a really impressive aesthetic without losing the professional atmosphere, and the systems themselves blend in seamlessly with the modern looks of the hotel.
The system is a breakthrough in the world of fabric roofs and together with it's sister system, the Azimut, represent the future of retractable roof systems.
