Pergola System in Somerset pub
The Prince of Wales pub is in Stoke-sub-Hamden in Ham Hill, Somerset and they approached Samson Awnings for a solution to their large outside drinking and eating area in front of the pub. As with many older pub buildings there is a problem with so many different roof and building heights and wall mounted systems become impossible to fix. A stand alone system is often best and there are various products offered to enable a free standing and large solution to outdoor cover.
This is a pub offering hearty breakfasts, lunch and dinner options as well as a venue for various events throughout the year and has a passionate owner who uses all local suppliers.
Being a busy venue, the customers were often getting cooked in the midday sun and the Markilux Pergola system once again provided the retractable terrace cover solution. Not one system, but 2 were used, coupled together and installed using the Syncra framework system enabling the cassettes to be fitted without actually fixing to the property, as the height of the outside wall was not sufficient. Effectively this is a complete stand alone solution covering a very large area with heaters and lights, also built in for the darker and cooler evenings.
The retractable fabric covers are fully electrically operated with remote control for ease of use.
