Vortex Installation at Saunton Sands Hotel
Saunton Sands is a large, easily recognisable hotel located on the top of a picturesque cliff, ovelooking three miles of one of the UK's premier sandy beaches in Dorset.
Because of exactly this, the hotel needed to be able to provide shading and shelter that could withstand not only tough coastal winds blowing in from the Atlantic Ocean, but rain, salt and sand being blown in. The Vortex commercial umbrella is especially durable and robust, able to withstand almost any weather condition. It is an umbrella designed in the UK for UK weather and one of the highest ratings for wind speed of any umbrella available.
These Vortex umbrellas were a replacement system for a group of traditional large parasols that required daily operation to combat the difficult conditions. The Vortex umbrellas had to fit into the existing ground sockets, and this required bespoke adapters that had to be made internally just for this installation. Whilst this was of course a unique situation, it actually eliminated the need for groundworks, thereby actually saving on costly preperation works.
These Vortex umbrellas have helped to provide the hotel with reliable, efficient and aesthetically pleasing shelter and shade for their terrace area. Integrated heating and lighting have allowed the hotel guest to make the most of their stay and enjoy the spectacular views throughout the year and late into the night.
